There are a lot of people that love cheeses of all different types. Most people have that one kind of cheese that they enjoy more than any other kind.
It doesn’t really matter what kind of cheese you like to eat... you are the one that has to eat it. However, certain cheeses give off such an odor that they may offend those not consuming it. A few stinky cheeses can stink more than the rest.
Why would anyone eat something called a stinky cheese? The reason for this is, just because it may "stink", does not mean that it doesn’t taste incredable. There are several cheeses that you may have eaten in the past that could be catigorized as stinky cheeses. You just may not have known that you were eating that kind.
What Are Some of The Popular Stinky Cheeses Frequently Available?
Here are some of the different types of stinky cheeses that people enjoy eating:
- Limburger Cheese – This is a stinky cheese that has a pungent smell to it. There are many people that would say this cheese is very yummy, while others may not like it. Many people say that it has a creamy texture to it and a complex taste. This is one of the more stinky kinds available.
- Brie Cheese – This is one that a lot of people have heard of before but may not have tried. Then again there are a lot of people that love the taste of this stinky cheese. Again, it is all about your personal preference. This is also one of the oldest soft cheeses that you can find. Most people will recognize it as being a French party cheese in the United States.
- Camembert Cheese – This is another French cheese that is considered a stinky cheese. This kind is velvety on the outside and gets softer the farther in you go toward the core. The core of this type will have reddish, light brown stripes close to the core.
- Stilton Cheese – Here is what is considered to be a very stinky cheese. It is originally made in England and it takes the longest to make of the different kinds available. It will have to age for 9 weeks minimum. Many people may have heard it called the blue veined Stilton.
